These are just few areas in which we proudly demonstrate our exceptional abilities:

Banking & Finance, Insurance Law

BBH is also known as the “firm that gets going when the going gets tough” and for its regular involvement in disputes in which critical judicial decisions are issued that change Czech and Slovak jurisprudence. It is always bad news for the counterparty that BBH is on the other side of the dispute.

Another important aspect of BBH’s Litigation and Arbitration practice is how well-suited the firm is to handle an unprecedentedly broad spectrum of areas of law when litigating because,  in addition to our Tier 1 position in the Litigation and Arbitration field, BBH is well known and sought out by clients for its superlative experience not only in all of the main legal areas such as civil, administrative, financial, commercial, real estate/construction, insolvency and labour law, as well as its unique expertise in the highly specialized modern agendas, including the media and intellectual property law and TMT sectors. BBH’s lawyers have taken part in numerous transactions in the sale, lease and purchase of real estate, establishing joint ventures for real estate investment, projects involving the construction of administrative, shopping and entertainment centres and other commercial real estate properties. The members of our real estate team also possess significant experience in the leasing of non-residential premises. BBH has a long-standing exceptional position on the Czech and Slovak legal markets in the areas of Litigation and Arbitration. Many clients seek BBH’s advice in unprecedented, unique or otherwise complex cases as BBH enjoys well-deserved respect among both clients and counterparties for its extraordinary ratio of success in Litigation and Arbitration matters.

In addition, BBH has developed a unique position as the premier construction/investment litigation firm, which is evidenced by the fact that it is currently involved in the most significant cases in the Czech and Slovak Republic.

BBH also provides its legal services in criminal proceedings - particularly in connection with “white-collar” cases, administrative proceedings and insolvency proceedings, which are closely interwoven with our Arbitration and Litigation practice.

Another significant aspect of BBH’s market-leading reputation is based on our ability to handle not only domestic disputes but also large and complex international cases involving various legal jurisdictions. BBH represents clients not only in domestic arbitrations in the Czech Republic (usually before the Arbitration Court attached to the Economic and Agricultural Chambers of the Czech Republic), but also in various international cases, including ad hoc arbitrations under the UNCITRAL Rules and ICC Rules, as well in arbitrations before the International Arbitral Centre of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber in Vienna and the Zurich Chamber of Commerce.
